The Ecuador Volunteer Foundation is an Ecuadorian non-profit that aims to connect dedicated volunteers to locally-run sustainable volunteer projects in various parts of Ecuador. All of our projects began as local initiatives and focus on a variety of areas including education, social well being, community development, and environmental conservation. Long term sustainability is the key goal in all our projects, so our volunteers work hand in hand with local communities to share their knowledge, ideas, and experience to make sure their work continues to impact the community long after they are gone. At the same time, our communities show volunteers parts of Ecuador and their culture that volunteers would never get to experience in any other way. Join our team and start changing lives today!

I volunteered with Ecuador Volunteer in a conservation project in the community of Mindo, and this experience changed my life! I fell in love with the country and the community where I volunteered so much that I moved to Ecuador after graduating. My work in conservation and local development opened my eyes and as a result I chose to complete my studies in International Development with a focus on community development and environmental conservation. I made so many great friends, both international and local, with whom I am still in touch with, nearly 3 years later! The organization prepared me for everything and made all of my pre-arrival arrangements, and never once did I feel unprepared or lost. The project was everything I hoped for and I felt like I was really making a difference. I learned so much about the community, the culture, and the local environment than I could have ever learned any other way. The best volunteering experience I have ever had!!
