HANDS is an organization that unites the efforts of those with a strong desire to help with those who need it the most.
HANDS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that connects students to existing organizations in Central America where they can make a positive impact. By providing hands-on service opportunities to the volunteers, we create an environment where volunteers can contribute to positive causes while supporting long standing local initiatives that promote the overall development of Central America.
Our staff members work year-round to ensure a dynamic placement of volunteers that is in line with the interests of the volunteer and one that will integrate smoothly with the developmental goals of the participating organization; thus making a real impact in each community.

HANDS is a great organization that does wonderful work connecting students at ND with on-site volunteer projects in Guatemala. Everybody I met from HANDS was helpful and friendly. My volunteering experience was life-changing and I recommend HANDS to any who are interested!

HANDS is an amazing organization. Its South Bend sector assists Notre Dame students in finding opportunities for service in Guatemala. Through HANDS, I found Constru Casa and traveled to Antigua for a week over my fall break to help with construction on a school. The hard work by HANDS allowed me to live a completely different life and feel the effects of hard physical labor with my own muscles. This group opens many doors for students in the United States to provide help to people who truly need the support.
