Tikondane Community Centre

Tikondane is a grassroots community centre run for and by the people of the Katete District in Eastern Zambia.

We provide primary education in the lively community school, and literacy and English lessons for parents and adults.

We promote better health through HIV/AIDS testing and counselling, health workshops and training, education on nutrition and smallholder farming, and a village outreach programme of home-based carers.

Tikondane is a gem for the tourist interested in finding the real Africa outside the usual lodges or hostels.
