Overview

A Hand for a House of Dreams is a program developed in Austria to support Nepal Volunteers’ and children’s home in Kathmandu, Nepal. It’s committed to providing all eleven children in its care today with a safe and healthy home, and more importantly, an education. To be able to achieve this, we rely largely on volunteers like you. Your efforts help us give the children a second chance to a secure life, to their healing of what often is a painful past, to a future protected from the hazards of poverty and lack of education.

You can help us in different ways: you can either do a one-time donation to our program, become a sponsor parent for one of the children or you can become a volunteer!

ello all,

I would like to leave a special comment to share with you my experience with A Hand for a House of Dreams. It had been a long time that I wished to volunteer in an under-privileged country but I had always been so shocked about the fees required by some organisations. Second, I was a little bit worried about where I would end up then. Finally the day came when a friend talk to me about her volunteering with A Hand for a House of Dreams. This is how I went to Nepal meet these children.

This experience has definitely changed my perception of the life and things around us, Nepalese culture is really very different from ours. And most of all, I've built a strong relationship with the children. How can you resist to their lovely smiles and welcome. The door is open like if they were only waiting for you!

You know, there is a lot of love and hope there that are worth the effort to go beyond what you think being able to do. If I should do it again, I wish I change anything. I hope for you to find the same satisfaction if you go there or in any other volunteer program. But please , if you decide to go there, say "hello" to the children on my behalf. One day for sure, I'll be back too...

At first it was volunteering, but it has become the most amazing and empowering experience I lived, and I continue to live.
I went to Nepal through A Hand For A House of Dreams for 2 months, stayed at the orphanage full time. Apart from helping and caring daily, I discovered a whole new culture and way of life, hard sometimes, but beautiful.
The children had made my heart full of love and joy. At the end, you realize that not only I have helped them, but they have helped me more than they imagine.
I will recommend more than warmly to jump into this experience, with no doubts and no regrets.
