Overview

We are a young and vibrant organization of local and international volunteers, based in the Maldives.

We offer a range of local volunteering programs and we are dedicated to securing the most exciting and beneficial projects for our volunteers while still making sure that as much attention and funding as possible is funnelled directly into our community. Most importantly, we believe that volunteering does not need to be all work and no play, and that the most rewarding of volunteer programs allow you to enjoy your placement at the same time as giving back to our community.

Our community is desperate for your help in so many ways but in return we promise to welcome you into our lives as a friend, show you the best the “real” Maldives has to offer and support you in any way we can.

I am actually half-collapsed in my bed after five hours' work in a local preschool, with breeze coming through the windows and a dragonfly struggling to find its way out.

Only one week in Naifaru, I have already been regretting leaving this tiny paradise three months later. Well-prepared accommodation, hospitable neighborhood, pleasant working hours, exciting weekend activities...this place is to fulfill all your fantasies about a never-shall-I-forget-it volunteer experience.

Oh, free advice! Bring a huge hat and long-sleeves if you don't enjoy sunburns-Only three hours in the sun, people can tell where my watch was for the rest of my life.
And yes, I swear on my unsuntanned wrist, the breathtaking pictures you see on the site are not photoshoped at all.

I have only been in Naifaru for a few days, but I have had such a great time. Everybody is very welcoming and supportive. They have always made sure that I am looked after. I am excited to see how the rest of my time here unfolds- I will keep you posted!

Never before have I experienced the kind of hospitality you find in the Maldives!
Volunteering with Atoll Volunteers gave me a perfect opportunity to get to know the 'real' Maldives. Most people who visit the Maldives only see the beaches of the resorts and can spend weeks in the country without having the slightest idea about what the Maldives is really like.

Unlike other volunteer organizations in the Maldives, Atoll Volunteers is a 100% not-for-profit organization which was a key factor for me when I applied. With these guys you are sure that your money goes to the people who need it most!

The staff in Naifaru is extremey helpful and forthcoming and I can only convey my warmest thanks to the guys and girls who made sure my stay was an incredible experience.

I will never forget my time with Atoll Volunteers where every day was a new adventure!

To anyone who's considering volunteering in the Maldives: Atoll Volunteers is without a doubt one of the best offers you are likely to find: Good facilities, friendly staff, exciting tasks and loads and loads of fun excursions!

I volunteered as an engineer, and will never regret it. Here is why.
When you think of the Maldives, it's all about luxury vacation and high stared hotels. But thats just the turist part of it. When you become a volunteer here, you will get the privilege to live and work with the locals on a little island far far away from everything. Islandtime is the codeword and if you like snorkling, fishing, crystal blue water, lots of sunny hours and very hospitable and kind local people and guides... DON'T MISS IT. This is really a once in a lifetimer.
