Apartheid ended in 1994, however, nearly 60% of South Africa’s population lives in poverty, subject to poor government funding and flawed policies. Estimates are that 80% of the children in South Africa’s townships don’t have access to early childhood development education, and as they grow up unattended and unprotected, they become victims of social and health problems.
