We surveyed our 50,000 email subscribers to learn about how they select their volunteer travel programs. Here’s what we learned!
- 40.5% pay a deposit with their volunteer application
- 16.9% of volunteers surveyed found their program through travel sites like Volunteer Forever
- 88.4% of travelers took three months or less to select a program
- Cost and activity were the most important factors in choosing a volunteer abroad program
- 87.4% of our respondents were female, 54.3% were students, and 58.4% were aged 18 to 24
