Awamaki

Awamaki is a 501c3 organization based in the United States and functioning as a non-profit in Ollantaytambo, Peru. Awamaki works with local women’s cooperatives, and envisions that the communities of the Sacred Valley have access to education and training in order to benefit from the opportunities provided by globalization and the expanding tourism market in an economically and environmentally sustainable way. By offering 3-6 month Volunteer/ Internship placements and 3-10 week Service Travel placements, Awamaki aims to continuously support groups of mindful and insightful visitors that contribute greatly to Awamaki’s program development within and across all sectors of the organization including our Women’s Cooperatives, Sustainable Tourism Initiatives and Community Education programs.
