HOOP Peru is a non-profit organisation enhancing the education of disadvantaged children and their families in Flora Tristan, Arequipa, Peru, and the surrounding communities.
Our vision is to break the cycle of poverty through education in Flora Tristan, an impoverished neighbourhood in Arequipa, Peru. Working with the community, we want to have a lasting impact on children and their families. Peruvian charity #11213306
We believe education is for everyone, so we provide strategic educational programs to give people of all ages the opportunity to advance their education, health, self-confidence and better their quality of life.

Volunteers spend a minimum of two months with the project and build a strong bond with the children
HOOP has more than 130 children and parents enrolled in the program.
Sometimes we like to dress up!
As a volunteer, you will teach English for one hour each day to one of our six classes. HOOP provides training to all volunteers to get you ready to teach!
The HOOP school is in Flora Tristan. Most mothers in the community did not progress beyond primary education, and more than half remain unemployed.
As well as teaching English, we spend time playing with the children, helping to build there confidence and giving them important social time.
