From bilateral breast cancers, mastectomies, chemo, so much surgery then finding a genetic mutation - fear dominated my life. Now back on both sides I am a physician and a patient, realizing that healing others, helps heal myself. I see life differently now, driven by purpose and gratitude.
#Delhi2013 - Cancer Survivors to Volunteer in India
My fear was recalibrated with bilateral breast cancers, mastectomies, armpit node dissections, chemo, hysterectomy and diagnosing a genetic mutation in a year not to forget. As I got back the work I love as a doctor, it helped to heal me and see both sides – this was my purpose. Going to Delhi to help people is very compelling for me – to make a difference in hope or comfort to those without. We need funds to complete this journey of hope and adventure – to show the power of survivorship and healing. Your money goes directly to cover accommodation, food and program fees.
