Overview

Overview

REWAC is an indigenous not-for-profit organization registered under Cameroon law on the 16th of March 2009. Its mandate is to promote, defend, and protect the rights of the over 150,000 refugees, asylum seekers and forcibly displaced persons in Cameroon. We do this by the provision of pro-bono legal aid for asylum seekers who pass through the refugee status determination(RSD) process,psycho-social support, sustainable livelihood projects, and the Refugee Children Education Fund . The goal is to empower the refugees for a better future as they integrate into their new society. The provision of humanitarian assistance to refugees cannot be left in the hands of the UN Refugee Agency alone. Indigenous initiatives like REWAC with the support of volunteers worldwide would make the difference
